On June 18, talks between prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and UNDP president Achim Steiner took place in Kyiv. The representative of the UN reported that today the organization is trying to accumulate $1 billion for the comprehensive recovery of Ukraine: infrastructure reconstruction, business support, etc. At the moment, urgent issues for Ukraine are the demining of the occupied territories and assistance to Ukrainian businessmen: those who lost their businesses due to the war and those who want to relocate their businesses. And UNDP will help Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises:
"Initiatives are being prepared for training and retraining of entrepreneurs, development of potentially export industries. UNDP will also support the restoration of energy infrastructure," Denys Shmyhal.
Today, the direct consequences of the Russian war are estimated at $411 billion. Last year, at UkraineRecovery, several countries took responsibility for the restoration of settlements or infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. The restoration of our state has already begun and will continue until it is rebuilt better than it was.
