On June 21-22, the Ukraine Recovery conference will be held in London, which will be attended by more than 1.000 high-ranking officials from more than 60 countries, as well as heads of international enterprises and investors. Antony Blinken and James Cleverly discussed the goals and plans for the upcoming conference. Tomorrow, Blinken will release the US aid package details to rebuild Ukraine.
"President Biden said... that we would stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes, and both of our countries are deeply committed to that," Antony Blinken.
"We will continue to deliver on that commitment, including through a new robust US assistance package that I'll be able to announce tomorrow."
The conference's purpose is the cooperation of states, private and state businesses and individual investors around Ukraine. However, Ukraine, in turn, is obliged to create a favourable investment climate, as well as provide foreign investors with insurance against war damage.
"This week is very much about creating the conditions necessary for public sector money, of course, but predominantly private sector money to fund their reconstruction," James Cleverly.
"Now, the precise details of how we do that, I don't want to prejudge. The whole point of the next couple of days is that the UK uses its expertise as a global financial services centre, including as a global insurance centre, but also our convening power."
Today, Ukraine needs $40 billion to implement the Green Marshall plan and another $411 billion to undo the direct damage that Russia has done to Ukraine. However, while the war continues — damage to all spheres of Ukrainian life also continues.
