On April 6, 2023, the governing party decided to terminate the lease agreement with the Russian embassy for the premises in Kyiv.
On April 20, mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that the Kyiv city council had terminated the lease agreement with the Russian embassy for premises on Solomianska street in Kyiv. Moreover, the state will petition for the return of all embassy property to the possession of Ukraine.
We remind you that Russia severed diplomatic relations with Ukraine a few days before the full-scale attack and also removed all diplomats and embassy representatives from Kyiv.
Ukrainians asked to expel the Russian embassy from our country back in March last year.
