Time for Strategic Partnership: France and Ukraine Conclude Four Framework Agreements

The Government of Ukraine and the Government of the French Republic have signed four framework agreements totaling more than €1.3 billion.

On April 13, the Minister of Finance of the French Republic Bruno Le Mer came to Kyiv. The purpose of the visitation was to conclude agreements that will facilitate the implementation of projects on:

  • providing a significant number of electric locomotives totaling €800 million to advance international companies in Ukraine.
  • changing the general situation in the country with drinking water by improving water supply in more than 20 cities and towns of the Luhansk region.
  • allocation of over €70 million for the improvement of water supply in Kyiv.
  • supply of necessary rescue equipment for successful firefighting and rescue of victims in high-rise buildings. In particular, the number of ladders is more than 350 pieces, and the total cost exceeds €300 million.

"All projects provide for localization at Ukrainian enterprises from 30% and above. Which is in line with our strategy for the development of national production," said Denis Shmygal.

President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked France for its support: "It is important that such projects are implemented at a high state level. At present, the French Republic is one of the ten strategic partners that support Ukraine in order to improve verified partnership and ensure favorable conditions."

On the other hand, Bruno Le Mer, Minister of Economy, Finance, and Reconstruction of the French Republic, noted Ukraine's remarkable economic prospects.
