Drones can be used both for the needs of the Armed forces of Ukraine and for supply to foreign customers.The goal can be achieved shortly. This was stated by ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar.
Ukraine and Turkey have been actively cooperating to exchange technologies for a long time. For example, there is a joint venture for the production of a new type of unmanned aerial investing-in-ukraine/business-opportunities/automotive/" rel="dofollow">vehicle - Akinci. Ukraine supplies them with engines and other spare parts.
In particular, a memorandum was recently signed between Baykar and the Ministry of defense of Ukraine. We are talking about the construction of a training and testing center for the operation of Bayraktar TB2 aircraft. The key tasks to be solved by the center are maintenance, repair, modernization of the UAV, and personnel training. Currently, company is in search for land to launch substantive work on the construction of the center.
The next step is to open a plant for the production of drones. Specialists are working to create production facilities and start the production of drones directly in Ukraine.
"The work is going pretty fast. It's definitely not years, but months" - Bodnar emphasized.
He is convinced that this is a strategically important task. Bayraktar TB2 drones are of interest to many countries around the world, and even more - there are already preliminary contracts. Thus, additional full-cycle production capacity allows Turkey to develop new markets, as well as jointly conduct tests and training to form a defense sector.
