Ukrainian businesses have launched the Ukrainian-African Business Council, or UAfrica Business Council, to expand export opportunities and build a more systematic presence across African markets. The founding meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture on Africa Day.
The platform is intended to connect companies, state institutions, industry associations, universities and financial players. Its agenda goes beyond simple trade promotion: it covers logistics routes, business missions, B2B contacts, investment support, infrastructure projects, education, science and finance.
From food exports to long-term partnerships
Africa is becoming a strategic direction for Ukraine because demand for food security, agricultural technology, processing and logistics solutions is rising quickly. Ukrainian companies can offer experience in grain exports, agro-processing, resilience, reconstruction and applied education.
The first Ukrainian agrohub in Ghana, launched under the Food from Ukraine initiative, shows how this strategy can work in practice. The hub is designed to support processing, distribution and food security in West Africa while creating a bridge for Ukrainian business.
The challenge now is to move from declarations to projects that can survive distance, regulatory differences and logistics costs. If UAfrica Business Council helps companies find reliable partners, structure financing and localize part of their work, Ukraine’s African track can become a real economic vector rather than a diplomatic slogan.
