Ukraine and Bulgaria agreed to deepen cooperation in unmanned technologies, counter drone systems and production of munitions for Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Bulgarian Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov discussed joint production of drones and technological solutions to counter them. Cooperation may involve both government level and company to company projects.
The talks also addressed joint projects within the Brave1 defense innovation cluster and testing solutions under real war conditions in Ukraine.
Ukraine noted its experience building systems that can intercept large numbers of enemy drones and is ready to share practical expertise within mutually beneficial partnerships.
Bulgaria also expressed support and highlighted contributions to the PURL program, which helps provide critical air defense capabilities for Ukraine.
Separately, the sides discussed opportunities under the EU SAFE mechanism to advance defense industry projects.
