Strategic Defense Partnership
Ukraine and Poland have agreed to deepen cooperation between their defense-industrial enterprises (DICs). The agreement was announced during a press conference in Kyiv with Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and his Polish counterpart Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Shmyhal emphasized Ukraine’s role as a global leader in unmanned systems and stressed readiness to develop joint projects in air, sea, and land drones, as well as robotic systems.
Key Areas of Cooperation

Ballistic missiles — identified as a priority direction of bilateral projects.

Artificial intelligence integration — accelerating the introduction of AI into modern defense technologies to strengthen common security.

SAFE program support — Shmyhal highlighted that Poland will receive €43.7 billion under the EU’s SAFE program, which should become a key mechanism for joint defense projects with Ukraine.
Cooperation in the Ramstein Format
Both ministers agreed to intensify joint work within the coalitions of capabilities under the Ramstein framework, focusing on:

Meeting urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF);

Supporting the long-term modernization of Ukraine’s defense sector.
Shmyhal pointed out Poland’s leadership and active participation in several coalitions:

Coalition of armored vehicles;

Coalition on demining.
Ukraine counts on Poland’s accelerated assistance and engagement in these crucial areas.
