Ukraine and the United States Unites to Protect Health

The prime minister of Ukraine and the director of the USAID Mission signed “Additional agreement to the agreement on the implementation of the task in the field of development”

$9 million was allocated for the implementation of tasks in the field of development and strengthening of the healthcare system.

According to the government portal of Ukraine, the agreement was signed by Denys Shmygal and James Hope, and the letter of attestation was signed by the US Charge d'Affaires in Ukraine Christina Queen.

“People's life and health are always a priority of the state. Thanks to this agreement, Ukraine will be able to direct additional financial resources to strengthen the capacity of the medical system and increase the effectiveness of the treatment of diseases. I am grateful to our international partners for their consistent support and assistance in the recovery during the pandemic,” said the prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmigal.

The distribution of the amount invested in the health care system of Ukraine is as follows:

  • $7 million to improve the general health of Ukrainians;
  • $2 million for measures to strengthen the country's economy.
