Ukraine Becomes a Member of the WTO Legal Advisory Center

Ukraine officially became a member of the Legal Advisory Center of the World Trade Organization

On August 28, the Protocol on Ukraine's accession to the founding of the WTO LAС came into force.

According to the press service of the ministry of economy, membership in this international organization provides for obtaining:

  • free legal advice on WTO law;
  • free training services on WTO law;
  • legal assistance in dispute resolution under the WTO for a fee that is significantly lower than that paid to law firms on a commercial basis (with a discount of 40% to the established hourly base rate);
  • free training services regarding WTO law.

"Using the services of the WTO LAС ​​will strengthen the human and institutional capacity of Ukraine in protecting its rights and interests in the trade and economic sphere, in particular, during the resolution of disputes within the WTO, will help eliminate trade barriers and save budget funds," the statement said.

Today, 12 developed countries and 39 developing WTO members are members of the WTO ALС.

LAС WTO is an international organization that was founded in 2001. Among the main goals of the organization is to provide legal assistance to developing countries to ensure the proper realization of their rights and interests as members of the World Trade Organization.
