On August 31, Swedish foreign minister Ann Linde announced that her state was ready to transfer modern weapons to Ukraine to protect its territories within internationally recognized borders.
"Sweden Government presents the 7th military package to Ukrainian Defense w/ SEK 500 million worth of artillery ammunition. This is not the last package. Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) & Armed Forces will evaluate the possibility to provide Swedish artillery Archer, air-defence RBS70 & more. Sweden stands with Ukraine," Ann Linde on Twitter.
On August 29, during the visit of Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba to Stockholm, the minister called on Sweden to transfer to Ukraine the previously named weapons — Archer howitzers and RBS-70 portable air defence systems.
"The best thing Sweden can do in the field of defence in the coming weeks is to provide Ukraine with its famous Archer self-propelled howitzers, RBS-70 anti-aircraft missile systems and more shells for our artillery systems," Dmytro Kuleba.
The minister of Kuleba also thanked Swedish PM Magdalena Andersson and MFA for allocating $100 million for Ukraine.
