Ukraine filed a lawsuit against Russia due to the latter's deformity of the term “genocide”. Russia used this method to justify its invasion of another country — our, Ukraine.
13 members of the court voted in favor, 2 against. The court also ruled that “the Russian Federation must ensure that any military or irregular armed formations that may be under its leadership or supported by it, as well as any organizations and individuals that may be under its control, did not take any steps to continue hostilities.”
It was unanimously voted "to refrain from any action that may aggravate or prolong the dispute in court or make it more difficult to resolve."
"Ukraine won a complete victory in the case against Russia in the International Court of Justice. The court ordered the Russian Federation to immediately stop the invasion of Ukraine. The order is binding on Russia under international law. Ignoring the decision will lead the Russian Federation into even greater isolation," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
