In 2016, the Three Seas Partnership was established - an association of European states located along the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic and Black Seas. The partnership includes counties which are not in the UE now but do their best to get a membership. On June 20, Polish president Andrzej Duda announced Ukraine's accession.
"We have decided to create a particular, new type of partnership with the Three Seas Initiative: in addition to the strategic partnership — a partnership through participation. This is a new type of partnership, which is designed not only for Ukraine. We gave it to Ukraine today, but we assume that the same partnership can be shared by those countries located in Central Europe and are not members of the European Union but seek to join it, "Andrzej Duda.
Ukraine, a country with fertile soil, located in the heart of Europe, and one of the most powerful IT clusters in the world, is needed to develop the initiative of the Three Seas. Economic cooperation of 12 current members of the partnership of the Three Seas and Ukraine, 13 members will contribute to the development of each of the countries-participators.
