Ukraine Received €1.5 Bln From the EU

On May 23, the first payment from the total macro-financial assistance of €18 bln was credited

Eurocommissioner for financial stability, financial services and capital markets union Valdis Dombrovskis reported on Twitter about the first part of the aid transfer for €1.5. The total amount of this program is €18 billion. It is noteworthy that the politician published his message in Ukrainian.

"Today, we provide Ukraine with the 4th payment within the framework of MFA+ in the amount of €1.5 billion. This regular support of the EU helps Ukraine to meet its financial needs, such as the payment of salaries, pensions, and repair of critical infrastructure. Thus, EU macro-financial assistance + payments for Ukraine this year will already reach €7.5 billion," Valdis Dombrovskis.

The PM of Ukraine, Denys Shmuhal, confirmed the funds transfer to the National Bank.

"So far, the EU disbursed €14.7 billion of macro-financial assistance since the russian full-scale war started. Together we will win!" Shmuhal added.

We remind you that a review of Ukraine's fulfilment of the conditions for receiving aid from the IMF started yesterday in Vienna.
