This marks the first of two tranches expected by the end of the year, with a total of €100 million allocated for this initiative.
The funds will be used to issue housing certificates to Ukrainians whose homes were destroyed by hostilities and terrorist attacks from Russia. Priority recipients include combat veterans, people with disabilities, and large families.
The project aims to fund over 2,000 housing certificates, benefiting approximately 5,700 Ukrainians. Since joining the Development Bank of the Council of Europe in June 2023, Ukraine has been working to provide financial assistance for those affected by the war. Additionally, as of July 25, 2024, the process for Ukrainians to submit applications to the international Register of Damages for destroyed housing has been simplified.
