The committee on finance, tax, and customs policy of Ukraine has proposed 2 laws concerning the import of drones, gun sight, and the devices of night vision into the country. The committee considers that this military equipment is now important for the deterrence of terrorist countries and counterattacks. Therefore, the deputies propose simplifying the import of equipment to Ukraine. Parliament registered these laws.
In the event of the adoption of laws, procedures for importing equipment into the Ukrainian customs territory will exclude payment of customs duty and value-added tax. Tax incentives want to introduce for the period of martial law in Ukraine or until January 1, 2024. The parliamentary finance committee has added to the list of benefits:
- Unmanned aerial vehicles;
- Optical and collimator sights;
- Thermal imaging;
- Night vision equipment;
- Thermal scopes and binoculars.
The law will apply to importers of different origins, except for aggressive countries.
Chairman of the committee, Danylo Hetmantsev noted that this step should be taken to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
