The US Congress сommittee approves the bill, which provides for the allocation of assistance to Ukraine

According to the Ukrainian embassy in the United States, the US Congress is working on approving aid packages for Ukraine in the budget for 2022.

The total amount of funds to be allocated for the implementation of assistance programs to Ukraine through the state department, the US Agency for international development and related programs is at least $481,5 million. The Embassy notes that the indicated amount of assistance is $28,5 million more than this year.

Also, the defense subcommittee of the appropriations committee of the House of Representatives approved the US Department of Defense Appropriations Bill for FY2022. The draft law provides for the allocation of $275 million for security assistance to Ukraine under the Pentagon's Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

The embassy added that work on the National Defense Appropriation Act (NDAA) for the 2022 House of Representatives and Senate committees is ongoing.
