Ukraine Started Cooperation with Sudan

Cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, transport and infrastructure, and mining

The Ukrainian Chamber of commerce and industry and the Sudanese Federation of businessmen signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

Sudan plans to attract the resources of Ukrainian enterprises to work in the fields of oil, gas, and gold production, energy, infrastructure, and transport.

On September 1, Evhenyy Mykytenko, Ukrainian ambassador in Egypt, invited the Sudanese delegation to an online conference of the Ukrainian Chamber of commerce and industry.

“The removal of the Republic of Sudan from the list of countries supporting terrorism, and, accordingly, the lifting of trade restrictions led to increased activity between representatives of the business circles of Ukraine and Sudan,” says Yevhen Mykytenko.

In the period January-July 2021, the total volume of mutual trade between Ukraine and Sudan amounted to $52,2 million. The signed memorandum will expand opportunities for business cooperation and increase the income of both countries.
