Ukraine unifies vaccination passports with the European Union

The European standard passport will become a pass for Ukrainian citizens for cross-border routes

As of 15 June, the European Commission’s "vaccination passports" will become operational. The President of the European Commission, Thierry Breton, presented the prototype certificate on the air of LCI channel.

"From the moment we can be sure that every European who wants to get vaccinated will have equal access to a vaccine, it will be good that we can have a mechanism, a certificate that demonstrates your health," said Breton on the air.

Ukraine has started work on the unification of the Ukrainian vaccination certificates with the Eurocomission’s, which will allow citizens of our country to travel to Europe without obstacles.

As Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal stated in an interview with resource RBK-Ukraine: "We are ready to introduce any of the models of vaccination passport that is possible in Europe: digital with QR-code, formalized certificate of vaccination of international standard that is valid all over the world today".

Shmygal believes that the process of unifying the passport, approved in the international form, will not be difficult, as all vaccinated persons are registered in the eHealth system.

According to Denis Shymgal, Ukrainians vaccinated with uncertified vaccines in Europe will still be able to cross EU borders with Euro-passports vaccination. Let’s remind, that EU certificated vaccines BioNTech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna. Ukraine provides vaccinations for CoviShield, Pfizer and CoronaVac.
