Ukraine is updating the mechanism for obtaining veteran business status, making the process digital and more transparent. Applications are being shifted to the Diia portal, while granting, suspension, and renewal decisions are recorded in the Unified State Register of war veterans.
The policy logic is practical: lower administrative friction and faster access to support instruments for veteran entrepreneurs. Official status is positioned as a gateway to grants, financing programs, and additional growth tools designed for business reintegration after military service.
What changes for entrepreneurs
- Online application instead of fragmented offline procedures.
- Automatic registry recording of status decisions.
- Clearer entry point to state-backed support mechanisms.
If implemented consistently, the reform can improve predictability for veteran-led SMEs and raise conversion from social reintegration policy into real economic activity.
