According to the head of the State service for food safety and consumer protection Vladyslava Mahaletska, negotiations are underway on the import of goods from Ukraine to Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Ghana, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Libya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Sudan.
"Ukraine has not yet realized its potential for trade and economic cooperation with African countries. We are more or less actively cooperating with the countries of North Africa, where historically closer ties have developed. The rest of the continent's states are almost terra incognita for most of our business representatives, although certain shifts can be observed. We see the desire of Ukrainian business to enter these markets, and we will contribute to this as much as possible," said Mahaletska, head of the State service for food safety and consumer protection.
In 2021, thanks to the Ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of economy, and the State consumer service, Ukrainian eggs entered the markets of Ethiopia, Libya — milk and cattle, Liberia — meat and poultry.
