Ukrainian and Georgian Sailors Conducted “PASSEX” Training in the Black Sea

Ukrainian sailors together with Georgian colleagues from the Coast Guard and the Georgian Border Police Department conducted training in the Black Sea

According to the press service of the command of the naval forces of the armed forces of Ukraine, during the training in a certain area, elements of tactical maneuvering, rescuing a person who fell overboard, and transferring cargo were practiced. Practical actions on towing also worked out. The armed forces of Ukraine noted that all elements of the training were planned and completed in accordance with NATO standards and procedures.

"The purpose of the event was to maintain security in the Black Sea, improve the training and interoperability of the crews of Ukrainian Navy ships and Georgian sailors to perform joint naval operations (tasks) as part of multinational tactical groups," the statement said.

A patrol boat of the Iceled type Sloviansk was involved from both sides for the training. The Georgian side also used the Island-Ochamchiri-type boat of the Georgian coast guard and the Sukhumi patrol boat of the border police.
