Ukrainian Digital Covid Certificates Passed EU Technical Assessment

"The next step is the political part of mutual recognition, namely the approval from the European Commission and the signing of the corresponding memorandum", Minister of digital transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov

The national application Diia is a product of the Ministry of digital transformation. In Diya all documents of citizens of the country are generated and stored, administrative services are provided and requests for public services are created. The application is used by about 5 million Ukrainians. All digital documents in Diia are legally equated to paper ones. Including COVID certificates.

"Today, COVID certificates in Diia have successfully passed a technical assessment in the EU. One step closer to the recognition of our COVID documents in Europe," Mykhailo Fedorov said in his Telegram channel.

The minister for digital transformation reports that the EU technical team highly appreciated the implementation time, accuracy and compliance of our documents with EU requirements, namely the EU digital COVID certificate of the European Commission.

The development and technical implementation of COVID certificates is jointly carried out by the teams of the Ministry of digital transformation, the Ministry of health, the National health service of Ukraine, the Ministry of foreign affairs and the State border service of Ukraine.
