Ukrainian Enterprises Earn 7.2 Trillion Hryvnias: A 20% Growth from Last Year

Ukraine’s top 1,000 enterprises saw a significant increase in net income, with Kyiv-based businesses leading the way

The largest Ukrainian enterprises achieved a remarkable milestone, with their total net income reaching 7.2 trillion hryvnias in 2023. This represents a 19.4% increase compared to the previous year, reflecting a strong performance across various sectors.

A study revealed that these 1,000 largest businesses accounted for 54% of the total product sales in Ukraine, marking a 2% growth from 2022. The list of top enterprises saw a 23% turnover, with 233 companies exiting and new ones entering the rankings.

The leading sectors among these top businesses include the food industry, with 139 companies, followed by the oil and gas sector (115), the electric power industry (104), and agriculture (97). Geographically, nearly half of these enterprises are based in Kyiv, which alone generated 52% of the total revenue. Other significant regions include Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv Oblast, Lviv, and Odesa.

This growth underscores the resilience and adaptability of Ukraine's largest businesses, despite the challenging economic environment.
