According to Dmytro Solomchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada’s Agrarian Committee, the state budget has allocated 1 billion hryvnias to support this initiative.
“All farmers who need to replace or reclaim their leased land can submit applications through the State Agrarian Register, receiving 100% compensation for any necessary development,” stated Solomchuk.
Why This Matters
- Significant Budget Allocation
A total of 1 billion hryvnias underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s agricultural sector. - Safety and Economic Impact
Some plots require development to eliminate risks that might endanger local communities or hamper economic activities. This program ensures that these lands can be made safe and productive.
Simplified Process for Farmers
Ukraine’s authorities are focused on streamlining the application process so that farmers can quickly access this crucial funding. The government aims to prevent land from remaining unused or posing potential hazards to agricultural workers.
Additional Support for Small-Scale Farmers
Previously, the Agrarian and Land Policy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada introduced measures to protect small-scale farmers, specifically those operating on up to 500 hectares of land. By making land development compensation fully available, the state helps these farmers maintain and expand their operations without facing excessive financial strain.
