The unified Ukrainian gas transportation system has a technical capacity of more than 200 million m3 of gas per day. This capacity can completely replace the transit of Russian gas to Europe. This was announced by the general director of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, Serhiy Makogon, in an interview with the Dutch channel NOS.
"Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 are redundant. I believe they were part of the aggression that we have been observing from the beginning," Serhii Makogon.
The capacity of the Ukrainian gas measuring station Suja is 244 million m3, which is enough to replace the North Stream. In this way, Europe will not only get rid of gas blackmail but also get a reduction in the price of gas and an opportunity to prepare for the heating season.
"On the contrary, the Russians deliberately limit gas supplies not only through the controlled North Stream-1 but also through Ukraine: from 109 million m3 of contracted capacity, the Russians use only 42 million m3" Serhii Makogon.
