Ukrainian companies purchased 58 units of domestically manufactured industrial machinery and equipment worth 205 million hryvnias including value-added tax in May 2026. It was the strongest month by purchase value since the state compensation program began and the best result of 2026 by the number of units.
What companies purchased
The May applications covered elevators, loaders, tank wagons for petroleum products, semitrailers, buses, crane equipment and other specialized machinery. Twenty buyers sourced equipment from eight Ukrainian manufacturers working in elevator systems, railcars, vehicles and lifting equipment.
How the 15% compensation works
The Economy Ministry transferred 25.6 million hryvnias to participating banks to reimburse buyers for part of the eligible cost. The program operates under the Made in Ukraine policy and is designed to make domestic machinery more attractive while giving producers additional orders.
Since launch, 237 companies have acquired 519 units worth almost 1.5 billion hryvnias. State reimbursement has reached 180.8 million hryvnias. The eligible catalogue now contains 1,354 products from 50 Ukrainian machine-building companies.
Industrial policy through business investment
The mechanism links two objectives: companies modernize capacity at a lower effective cost, while Ukrainian factories receive demand and can scale production. Its long-term impact will depend on predictable funding, clear eligibility rules, bank processing and whether manufacturers can turn the temporary stimulus into repeat orders, productivity gains and export-ready equipment.
