All those who were on the Ukrainian market from 2010 to 2012 will agree that today it is entirely different from the one that was 10 years ago. And now we’re going to try to explain why.
Comparing the list of popular sites of that time and the present, it is safe to say that the areas and themes covered in 2011 are not of interest to today’s Ukrainians in 80% of cases. In the past, foreign and even pirated resources were included in the list of the best sites of Ukraine. Today in the rating of popular web pages: public service in messengers, marketplaces, banking blogs, and social networks. A breakthrough in the industry is easy to track with the help of a consumer. In just 10 years, Ukrainians have learned to buy and sell, learn everything interesting through the Internet. In the last few years, people have "moved" into smartphones. With the help of the telephone, Ukrainians can communicate, work, rest, pay, and even always carry documents.
10 years ago, the startup market in the country was beginning to take shape. Today in Ukraine, there are several thousand start-up projects and about one hundred start-up competitions. Every year, Ukrainian inventors participate in international competitions and hackathons. In 2011, there were 25 technology brands on the list of large Ukrainian companies. Today, the list has doubled. By the end of 2021, there were 50 IT corporations in Ukraine.
According to research, during 2011, all Ukrainian startups attracted about $20 million. Today annual investments in projects are 30-35 times higher.
In 2011, the majority of Ukrainians did not trust online shops. 1.5% is an indicator of Internet sales out of total sales. In 2020, the share of Internet retailing increased to 9 percent, with a 40 percent increase in the last year alone.
There are dozens of other examples of the market with 10 years of age difference, which are two very different phenomena.
