UNN correspondent Serhiy Babak said that education for certain groups of foreigners will now be conducted in any language according to the legislative initiative. This enables making a project in Ukraine for young people from abroad.
"There are now more than 70,000 foreign students in Ukraine, but there are some restrictions imposed by law. In particular, there is an initiative of the Education and Science Committee, which we hope to submit to Parliament in the coming weeks so that our universities can make a certain quantum leap into the foreign market," Babak said.
According to him, currently, in Ukraine, the education of foreigners is allowed only in two languages – Ukrainian or English.
"It is about allowing foreigners to study, in certain groups of foreigners, in any language: universities in Volyn or Lviv can do it in Polish, in Transcarpathia to teach in Hungarian, in Chernivtsi – in Romanian, in Odesa – in Bulgarian, in the rest after all in Kharkiv – in Russian," the chairman of the committee explained.
According to him, the potential of this law is extremely relevant, as every year 20 thousand foreign students come to Ukraine to study. Thus, the budgets of universities are annually replenished by $146 000.
