Ukrainian President Opens German Parliament Session

17 March Volodymyr Zelenskyy told about the war in Ukraine before German politicians

Zelenskyy started with the main thing — the victims of Russian aggression in peaceful cities and the absence of safe humanitarian zones. He paid special attention to Mariupol, who was killed by rocket and tank shelling, street fighting, and humanitarian disaster.

The president of Ukraine also appealed to the German deputies to help in the current situation. Zelenskyy noted that for the time being he sees the relations of Ukraine with the European countries only in economic terms.

German chancellor Olaf Scholz attended the meeting.

Besides the fact that the Bundestag deputies stood up and gave applause to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he was supported by words.

"Mr. President, your country has chosen democracy, and that is what Putin fears. Freedom is a gift that must always be fought for," said the politician Catherine Goering-Eckart.
