According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (AMPU), from January to August 2024, the ports processed 66.8 million tons of cargo, significantly outperforming the same period in 2023, which saw 37.7 million tons.
Of the total cargo, 41.7 million tons consisted of agricultural products, highlighting the critical role of Ukraine's agricultural sector in the national economy.
In August alone, Ukrainian seaports processed 6.8 million tons of cargo, more than doubling the results of August 2023. Out of this, 4 million tons were agricultural products destined for international markets.
This surge underscores the growing importance of Ukraine's seaports as a key player in global trade, especially in the agro-industrial sector.
