Ukrainian Teacher Entered the Top-10 “Global Teacher Prize”

The teacher of Ukrainian modern literature and language was awarded the best pedagogue worldwide for the 1st time in the history of the competition

Ukrainian teachers have participated in the Global Teacher for 7 years and usually entered the top-50. However, this year, the Ukrainian language and literature teacher Artur Proidakov entered the group of 10 best teachers in the world. The competition organisers noted that Artur brings education in his country to a modern level and does everything for young people to know their native language well and be interested in and love modern literature.

"Under the mentorship of Artur, schoolchildren in small towns pass the EIT by 190+ points (the maximum possible 200 – ed.), and after the 1st year at the university, they find work in SMM or copywriting. During classes, he conducts surveys in a Telegram channel, teaches students SMM management and creates a pleasant microclimate for learning through games," said the organisers of GTP.

Prokhodakov lived in the Luhansk region before the occupation in 2014. Through the Russian invaders, the teacher went first to Sumy and then to Kyiv. There, he opened his 1st course of Ukrainian literature within the framework of the project All-Ukrainian Online School, which was predetermined by the beginning of the Covid-2019. In 2022, after the start of a full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, Prokhodak launched an online course. Later, the teacher opened a conversation club for internally displaced persons in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and webinars to prepare for national multi-editorial testing, which was introduced due to the war. The courses are free and adapted to people of all ages, which significantly helps refugees.
