Ukrainian wheat exports are receiving support from active demand in North Africa and Southeast Asia. Algeria and Indonesia remain important buyers, while broader international purchases have helped wheat markets recover after several weeks of pressure.
Analysts note that the wheat complex on the Chicago exchange showed stronger movement than other grains. Purchases by Algeria, Jordan, Bangladesh and Asian countries returned attention to the market ahead of the new season.
Weather and Black Sea pricing
Weather risks in Europe also supported sentiment. Hot and dry conditions in France and parts of Central Europe increased concern about crop potential, allowing European and United States markets to move away from recent lows.
At the same time, the global balance remains well supplied. Winter wheat harvesting in the United States is gaining pace, while Russia keeps strong export potential for the new season. That limits the possibility of a stable upward price trend.
The physical market in the Black Sea region remains cautious. Spot indicators for delivery to Odesa showed food wheat near 217 dollars per ton and feed wheat near 212 dollars per ton, while new-crop feed wheat was lower. During the first half of June, Ukrainian wheat exports reached 668 thousand tons, with Algeria and Indonesia retaining a decisive role in late-season shipments.
