Since 1991, Ukraine has had a norm on military registration of female doctors of all specialities. Today, most doctors, dentists, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, etc., from 18 to 60 years old, are registered with the military, but not all.
From October 1, 2023, explains the Ministry of health of Ukraine, women of all the above specialisations are required to register for military accounts until December 31, 2026. The Ministry emphasises registration ≠ mobilisation. That is, women will not be sent to the front and have the right to travel abroad.
Female students of medical institutions will be automatically registered in the Territorial centre's database to recruit doctors and medical specialists of Ukraine. Also, during hiring, an employer is obliged to transfer the data of the new medical employee for registration in the military medical reserve.
