Unification of NACE Ukraine-EU

Implementation of the European classification of goods in the Ukrainian legislation on foreign economic activity

On June 24, the Ministry of finance decided to "make changes to the procedure for maintaining the Ukrainian classification of goods of foreign economic activity." This is a legislative decision for the subsequent introduction of the provisions of the legal acts of the European Union. Specifically, the nomenclature of EU goods for foreign economic activity. The unification of the Ukrainian classification of goods for foreign economic Aativity (KVED) and the European NACE will allow customs officers of both sides to use the same classification of goods in cross-border movement.

The government of Ukraine instructed the state customs service to "publish the list of valid decisions on the classification of goods according to the EU combined nomenclature, provided for in the relevant acts of EU law on the date of adoption of this decision, provided that such decisions do not contradict the provisions of the International convention on the harmonised commodity description and coding system and update it at least once every quarter."

Ukrainian IT specialists were instructed to finalise the software for maintaining new records. The procedure for registration of Ukrainian KVED has not changed since 2012.
