According to the minister of energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, Ukraine is currently at the final stage of this process. It is planned to introduce an isolated regime twice this year – in winter and summer, after which the country will demonstrate that the power channel is ready to unite.
Halushchenko also added that several technical issues remain to be resolved, after which the synchrоnization can be successfully completed. He stressed that Europe absolutely supports Ukraine and promotes its desire to unite with the European energy system.
Earlier it was reported that the national Commission fоr state regulation of power and public utilities, in preparation for association with ENTSO-E, introduced another trade zone into the regulatory framework – the UES of Ukraine with the inclusion of the Ostrov trade zone of Burshtyn TPP for isolated island mode of operation.
Also, Ukrainian national energy company UkrEnergо previously obtained certification from the national committee as the operator of the European-style energy transportation system according to the ISO model, which is a necessary step for Ukraine and Europe to integrate successfully synchronize their energy systems.
