“United24” Raised $1.25 Mln for a School Rebuild

Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky lyceum in the Chernihiv region will be restored thanks to the platform's ambassador Andrii Shevchenko and other donors

Minister of digital transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov said that within the framework of the global initiative to support the country during the war, the first fundraising for the recovery of the educational institution was completed. The United24 platform, joined by Ukrainian and foreign celebrities, raised $1.25 million. It will be transferred to the village of Buzova, Kyiv region. The money will be used to restore the lyceum in the Kyiv region after the Russian invasion war in February-March 2022. Recall that in the first months of the war, the occupiers quickly destroyed the Kyiv region and killed local residents.

After the reconstruction works are completed, almost 500 pupils can return to the training. Now children can study only online or go to schools in neighbouring villages.

Minister Fedorov also announced the start of a second such event. United24 plans to raise funds to restore the Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky lyceum in the Chernihiv region. Famous Ukrainian football players have already joined the charity. Former coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andrii Shevchenko and one of the most popular midfielders of the country, Oleksandr Zinchenko will hold a friendly match in London with the stars of world football Game4Ukraine

"I think it will be a very good media sign for all we have united," said Shevchenko.

Ukraine acts and strives to return not just to have been a life but to the best version of the country.
