On September 14, Ursula von der Leyen announced that she would go to the capital of Ukraine to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The European politician is already on his way to Kyiv. The urgency of the visit is due to the introduction of the free European roaming zone in Ukraine.
In July, European leaders voted to introduce free roaming for Ukrainians. However, European roaming has no permanent validity, and now only 3 operators in Ukraine support free service. Therefore Ursula von der Leyen wants to discuss with the leader of Ukraine the possibility of a permanent connection to roaming. Currently, more than 70 foreign operators are ready to serve the country in south-eastern Europe.
"We will enable Ukraine to maximize its potential. Build on the successes achieved in achieving seamless access to the single market. It is necessary to join Ukraine in our European free roaming zone. I am going to Kyiv today to discuss all this with president Zelenskyy," wrote the president of the European Commission on Twitter.
We remind you that more than 13.000 Starlink terminals were installed in Ukraine today.
