Bridget Brink has been in Ukraine for several days. Plans for her visit included a trip to the Kyiv region. The politician, accompanied by the prosecutor general of Ukraine, stopped in Borodianka. This town of central Ukraine has suffered brutal shelling, looting, and merciless killings.
"The Borodianka was badly hurt. The town witnessed atrocities committed during Russia’s brutal war, including families killed in their own homes," the US ambassador wrote.
Brink also added that Russia should be punished. Every criminal must be brought to justice. The politician also noted that what she saw in Borodianka strengthened her determination to do everything possible to "bring to justice the perpetrators of these horrendous crimes".
Let us recall that not everyone believes that. French president Macron recently stated that the punishment should be diplomatic punishment and Russia should not become an outcast. However, the US ambassador was in Ukraine and saw everything with her own eyes, unlike Emanuel Macron.
Earlier, on June 2, Brigitte Brink presented credentials from the US president to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The new ambassador pledged to take care of the president's diplomatic relations and help in the war with Russia.
