During his visit to Thailand, the US secretary of defense voiced several theses about Ukraine. In particular, regarding the undoubted readiness of the United States to promote Ukraine's victory in the war against Russian imperialism and tyranny. One of the journalists' questions was about the country's readiness to hand over the howitzers and MLRS it needs to Ukraine.
"The United States is ready to do anything to help Ukraine succeed," said Lloyd Austin.
The secretary stressed that not only the United States is investing in aid to Ukraine. "We have already provided a significant number of howitzers and large volumes of 155-mm ammunition, among many other things. But other countries have also sent 155-mm howitzers."
On June 15, the 3rd session of the Contact group on the defense of Ukraine will be convened, which will consider the last full request of Ukraine for armaments, the terms of the world's ability to equip the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Austin, Rammstein-3 was supplemented by new representatives of the world's strongest countries.
"We will hear directly from Ukrainian leaders, led by Oleksii Reznikov, and work to intensify our joint efforts to meet Ukraine's priority requirements for the defense of its own territory," the Pentagon chief said.
