USAID to Provide Ukraine With Another $4.5 Bln

Ukraine will receive the first $3 bln in August through the Agency for International Development

According to Reuters, the United States has decided to allocate another $4.5 billion to help Ukraine. Thus, the total amount of USAID support from February 24 will be $8.5 billion.
In addition, on August 8, Washington announced another $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine, which will include the legendary HIMARS. The total US aid to Ukraine is $18 billion, and this land lease has not yet begun to arrive.

The $4.5 billion support will be aimed at restoring the supply of gas and electricity to hospitals/schools/critical infrastructure, humanitarian aid to the citizens of the country, and salaries for teachers and doctors.

"This economic assistance is critical in supporting the Ukrainian people as they defend their democracy against Russia’s unprovoked war of aggression,” US Treasury secretary Janet Yellen.

According to USAID, special third-party observers have been introduced under the government of Ukraine to regulate the correct distribution of the monetary package.
