From now on, air traffic control, as well as the use of airspace at the tactical level, will take place in a certain part of Slovakia's airspace. At the same time, inaccurate approach procedures will be applied at Uzhhorod aerodrome.
Uzhhorod International Airport is located in the mountains in such a way that the threshold of invest.com/investing-in-ukraine/business-for-sale/buy-a-runway/" rel="dofollow">runway 10 is located a few hundred meters from the Ukrainian-Slovak border. The use of the airspace of the neighboring country is a necessary condition for landing on the instruments at this aerodrome.
The agreement was signed in September last year during the official visit of the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Slovak Republic.
Previously, the protocols of technical cooperation with the Slovak side were implemented, new departure / arrival schemes were developed and implemented at Uzhhorod Airport. This has made it possible for the airport to become more accessible for flights, especially in difficult weather conditions and at night.
