War Against Ukraine Killed 68 Rescuers

Since February 24, 2022, 68 representatives of the State emergency service were killed during the performance of their professional duties

The head of the State emergency service of Ukraine reported that since the start of the full-scale Russian attack on Ukraine, 68 employees have died while rescuing people from Russian attacks. In addition, 5 rescuers are in Russian captivity. Another 201 workers of the rescue service were injured.

"During the evacuation measures, which we carried out together with the police, in particular in Irpin, Bucha, Mariupol and on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, we were taken prisoner, our equipment was taken away, we were fired upon," Serhii Kruk, head of the State emergency service.

We remind you that on March 13, 4 sappers were killed in the Kherson region during a demining operation. On February 27, a 22-year-old firefighter died in the Khmelnytskyi region while extinguishing a fire from Russian Shahed.
