What Is a Consular Rapid Response Suitcase

The MFA of Ukraine received 7 "suitcases" from Europe's largest crypto-exchange "WhiteBIT"

The rapid response bag is literally a suitcase that contains technological tools for providing diplomatic assistance to Ukrainian citizens in places and settlements where there are no consulates or even internet connections. The suitcase is equipped with a laptop with network access, a powerful battery, a printer and devices for processing documents.

"Sets of equipment will add speed to the Ministry of foreign affairs in carrying out tasks to protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens abroad. It works like this: the consul arrived, deployed the system, helped people, got up, and went back. Each such suitcase is really a set of rescuers, a kind of ambulance consular assistance," minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

The equipment was provided to Ukraine under the Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Ministry of foreign affairs and WhiteBit dated April 23. The cases were also transferred to the consulate of Ukraine in Poland.

"From the 1st day of the war, we have been helping Ukraine with everything we can. Our company has donated more than $2.5 million to charitable needs. In the first hours of the invasion, we have already organized a relief fund, which currently raises another $1.5 million. Most of our team is in Ukraine and works with volunteers. This is primarily the Kharkiv region, partly Kyiv — the most affected areas, where people have the most pressing humanitarian needs. And cooperation with the MFA has led us to help Ukrainians abroad, particularly those forced to seek refuge from the war," WhiteBit CEO Volodymyr Nosov.

It is known that such mobile points of consular assistance to their citizens abroad also use the technologies of the United States, Great Britain, France, Poland and the Baltic States.
