An influential figure in American foreign policy came to Ukraine. Samantha Power strolled through the streets of Kyiv and laid flowers at the memorial to the victims of the Russian war in Ukraine. Also, the US Agency for International Development administrator met with the Ukraine president. In addition to business negotiations, Power took time to express her admiration for the Ukrainian people. According to her, the military is doing a huge job for the country. But some entrepreneurs are leading Ukraine forward and keeping its budget from falling apart amid the war.
The American figure did not bypass Ukrainian journalists. She noted that media workers take risks in studios, reporting from hot spots. It also became known that the administrator of USAID began cooperation with Ukrainian activist and executive director of the Institute of mass information, Oksana Romanyuk. Such collaboration makes it possible to provide Ukrainian journalists with the necessary equipment for reporting from hot spots in the country.
It should be noted that Power, in the last post, the permanent representative of the United States to the United Nations, supported the interests of Ukraine. From 2014 to 2017, she spoke sharply about the annexation of the Crimean peninsula and did not hesitate to respond rudely to Russian diplomats.
