In Ukraine, another social breakthrough: out of concern for women's safety, the state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia implemented a compartment for women and children under 6 years of age.
We remind you that after yet another misogynistic and bloody incident in the carriage, the women of Ukraine began to demand safe conditions for travelling by train. Specifically — wagons where only women can be.
"Let's move from hype to business. As promised, we are introducing women's compartments in an experimental mode. Next, we will look at the demand and decide to scale this project to a larger number of night flights. We are also working on strengthening safety in trains, we will soon announce a few more solutions," representative of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Lyashchenko.
The largest number of painful incidents took place on long-distance routes, so it was on these routes that Ukrzaliznytsia introduced the possibility of women's carriages:
- Kyiv – Uzhhorod;
- Dnipro — Truskavets;
- Kyiv — Kryvyi Rih;
- Kharkiv — Yasinya.
Currently, woman's tickets are available for purchase only in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application. Men and boys who want to rebel against the system can buy tickets for the women's carriage on the website, but they will not be allowed into the carriage and will be denied boarding.
