Wonder Women: Ukrainian Sportswomen Continue to Glorify Ukraine

During the last week of July, Ukrainians received the highest European and World Championships awards in swimming, informatics and weightlifting

Ukrainians continue to win prizes in prestigious competitions no matter what. Last week, Ukrainians again showed their steel power and invincibility.

On July 21, the annual European Girls' Olympiad in informatics ended in Sweden. 186 girls from around the world attended the competition. Girls from Ukraine got 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal. Thus, the Ukrainian team scored more points than 127 girls from Europe and 59 from other countries and took 1 team place at the European Girls' Olympiad in informatics.

Kamila Konotop and Mariia Hanhur brought Ukraine to first place in the European Youth Weightlifting Championship. They became absolute champions this year: Kamila Konotop won 3/3 of the gold medals in her weight category (up to 59 kg); Mariia Hanhur also took 1st place in the weight category up to 64 kg.

Representative of Ukraine Kateryna Sadurska won the Vertical Blue 2023 freediving tournament and set an absolute world record. She plunged 76 m underwater without flippers. Tour organisers note that diving underwater without flippers is considered the most challenging discipline. The champion spent 3 minutes and 12 seconds. In 3 days, she plunged into the water again and broke her record by swimming 77 m deep.

Ukrainian girls are beautiful and successful in sports, science, business, and volunteering. They even stand shoulder to shoulder with men in war.
