On October 5, the Royal Spanish football federation RFEF reported that Ukraine was included in the Iberian bid for the World Cup-2030. According to the application, Ukraine and Portugal, and Spain claim to organize large-scale sports events in their countries. If the World Cup commission approves the application, Ukraine will accept one of the 8 groups of the tournament in 8 years. The president of Ukraine and the governments of Spain and Portugal approved the application.
"The proposal has the unconditional support of UEFA in the global project and transformer of European football in an exceptional situation," reports the RFEF.
It is also noted that the application of Ukraine will help strengthen ties with Europe and give Ukrainians hope that in 8 years, the country will be restored and safe. Recall on November 20, the World Cup will begin in Qatar. However, Russian football clubs will not be allowed to play, and they are also barred from participating in all European cups for the 2022-2023 season.
