Zelensky Awarded Ursula von der Leyen With the Order of Yaroslav the Wise

On September 15, the president of Ukraine presented the first class Order of merit to Ukraine and its people to the president of the European Commission

Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv today. During a press conference, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the head of the European Commission with a special award — the first class of the Order of Yaroslav the Wise. Yaroslav the Wise is the prince of Kyivan Rus, who made a considerable contribution to the development of international relations and the culture of Ukraine. Thus, the Order of Yaroslav the Wise is awarded to a person who has done a great feat for Ukraine. Like Ursula von der Leyen.

"Dear Volodymyr Zelenskyy, thank you so much for the award of the first class of the Order of Yaroslav the Wise. This is a great honour. I accept it in the name of all EU citizens. And as a symbol of our strong bond," Ursula von der Leyen.

Also, in honour of Ursula von Der Leyen, her nameplate appeared on the Walk of Brave.

We remind you that yesterday, during her speech before the European Parliament, the European Commission's president called for further support for Ukraine and to resist Putin and his aggression. She said that Putin will lose this war, and Ukraine and Europe will be the winners.

"Since the very beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen has played a key role in the comprehensive support of our country from the European Union, in the defence of sovereignty and territorial integrity and common European values. From now on, her name is engraved on the Walk of the Brave in Kyiv next to the names of statesmen from Great Britain, Poland, Latvia and the Czech Republic," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
