President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law ratifying the Ukraine–Japan agreement on information security, establishing a formal framework for the exchange and protection of classified data between the two countries

Law No. 4368-IX, ratified by the Verkhovna Rada on April 17 with 293 votes, was signed by Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk on April 22 and returned with Zelensky’s signature on May 7.

The document creates a legal basis for the exchange of classified information between the two countries. Such cooperation is important primarily in the context of strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Japan,” – stated the Verkhovna Rada.

The agreement, originally signed on November 16, 2024, in Kyiv, outlines parity measures to protect state secrets and sensitive data during bilateral cooperation.
